Ka Be Contemporary is pleased to present Antonio Asis’ first solo show in Miami From Color to Motion, showcasing works from the 60’s , 70’s and 80’s of this master’s prolific career.
To talk about Antonio Asis is to talk about the history of Op Art and Kinetic Art as well.
Asis moved to Paris in 1956 where he continuously studied and explored Geometric Abstraction and Kinetic Art, sharing experiences and working with artists such as Agam, Soto, Schoffer and Vasarely, among others.
Antonio Asis’ works featured in this exhibition are the result of the relationship between ligth, color, movement and kinetic vibration; a series of delicate and skillful artworks that invite the viewer to wander through this master’s extensive career.
Antonio Asis was born in Argentina in 1932 and has participated in numerous exhibitions in Europe, North and South America. Lúmiere et Movement in Paris, France (1965), Cinétisme, Spectacle, Environnement, Grenoble, France(1968), Biennale Méditerranéenne d’art Contemporain, Italy (1983), Los Cinéticos - Kinetic Art at the Museo Centro Nacional de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid Spain (2007) are some of the venues where his works were shown.
He currently lives and works in Paris, France.
